So, Russia started a proxy war in Niger using Wagner forces to support the military to take over the government. This is a way for Russia to screw France directly and the EU as a whole.

France took on the nation of Niger as a protectorate as a vassal state. They are one of the largest uranium exporters and France runs enough nuclear power plants to power over 60% their electric grid.

Now France’s nuclear raw materials and EU gas are threatened without Russia ever firing a shot and no direct links back to Putin.

Also, the USA has about 1000 personnel doing anti-terrorism operations in the country to cover that region of Africa.
